DIY Bird Stamped Canvas Tote

So, in a previous post I showed you how to make a sturdier canvas tote shopper bag. Now, it's time to stamp some birds on it! (The surfboard art is from a previous project.)

This bag will be for my giveaway on Facebook, since I promised I would make a little something once the Facebook page hits a 100 likes. I will post about the giveaway once the 100 is up, as well as instructions on how to participate.

How to:

Have your bag ready: it needs to be pre-washed for the paint to stick!

Draw your stamp onto a linoleum block (remember to do it mirrored!), then carve it out and cut around.

Find something to make a "handle" out of. Make scratches on the stamp, so it will adhere to your "handle" easier. Then just glue it on.

Have paper or something else in between your tote, so the paint won't leak through.
I used a foam brush to apply fabric paint onto the stamp. Stamp away!

Let it dry. This particular fabric paint (Scribbles) needs 4 hours to dry flat, and can be washed after 72 hours.

Done :)

So, get on over to the Facebook page if you want to participate in the giveaway!
